Jasper County First Steps is pleased to be a community sponsor of Read for the Record 2018 as organizations across the country celebrate the power of reading with young children! This 13th annual campaign continues to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills for EVERY child, so that all children have the opportunity to enter kindergarten prepared to succeed.

Connect. Reading aloud with young children builds literacy and language skills and provides positive reading experiences that instill a love of reading.

Connecting Parents To Community Resources

Description: Early childhood educators who learn about their community’s resources, and connect families with these resources, provide a valuable connection to services for children and families.  Be prepared to provide community-based resources to families in need of services including early intervention services, health care and much more.  Develop creative strategies to communicate awareness of community resource at your early childhood setting.  Join us to create a caring culture of supporting families.
